Chris Doud

Free Music Wednesday

Chris Doud has been writing songs and performing live for three decades. He is best known as co-founder and co-frontman of the seminal Americana band, The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. TGLTSO’s fan base has grown from the valley of California to the greater U.S. to international fans far and wide. While the band plays live only sporadically since 2017, with three studio albums and a double live album to date, they continue to amass followers on the music streaming platforms. The various original members continue to perform in other capacities, including Doud, who not only stays busy traveling the singer-songwriter circuit, but can still deliver the whole band experience with his new backing band, The Salvage Company.

Chris Doud as a solo artist continues the folk, roots, and classic country traditions with a prodigious amount of solo material. An established solo performer in his own right, playing clubs, breweries, and festivals alike, he has also released three studio albums of folk/Americana music, as well as a children’s album collaboration with Willy Tea Taylor. Live performances have drawn comparisons to John Prine, Guy Clark, and even Gordon Lightfoot. His newest studio album, The Land Farthest West, is a double album effort featuring solo material recorded with a cadre of talented musical friends, as well as his new backing band The Salvage Company.
